Unveiling of a commemorative plaque honoring Zuzana Růžičková and Viktor Kalabis in Jindřichův Hradec
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, a commemorative plaque dedicated to harpsichordist Zuzana Růžičková and composer Viktor Kalabis was ceremoniously unveiled in Jindřichův Hradec.
The plaque, created by sculptor Václav Fiala, is located on the house at 557 Fügnerova Street, where the Kalabis couple lived and worked together from 1971 to 2017. This new memorial site serves as a lasting reminder of their artistic legacy and their deep connection to Jindřichův Hradec. Special thanks for the opportunity to install the plaque go to the owners of the house, the Kubas family.
The ceremony was organized by the Viktor Kalabis and Zuzana Růžičková Endowment Fund with financial and organizational support from the Jindřichův Hradec City Development Foundation. Also attending were the representatives of the Jindřichův Hradec city administration, Mayor Michal Kozár, and First Deputy Mayor Radim Staněk.
Below, we present a photo gallery capturing the atmosphere of the ceremony, the unveiling of the plaque, and the participation of guests and project partners. We thank all partners and guests who joined us in honoring the memory of these two extraordinary artistic figures.
